Microsoft says Secunia should have notified it first before releasing the information.

CHAPTER OF THE WEEK:
'Building your defense strategy'
The old Windows 2000 Encrypting File System (EFS) received a substantial update in Windows .NET, but there are many gotchas to be aware of. This chapter, from the book "Windows Internet Security: Protecting Your Critical Data," by Cyrus Peikari, provides a thorough walk-through on how to create an impenetrable moat around your system using the features of .NET EFS.
TIP:
Windows security strategy
Unless managing a few Windows boxes is your full-time job, if you want to have any hope of keeping them secure, you have to have a well-reasoned strategic approach. The most important input to this strategy is an understanding of attack vectors and how they change.

Cheney reaction -- site snafu sends surfers to Soros
[Associated Press]
Here's a perfect example of why it's important to distinguish your dot-coms from your dot-orgs. When Vice President Cheney told debate watchers to go to FactCheck.com for the facts about his Halliburton dealings, little did he know he was directing them to a business based in the Cayman Islands. When that site became super-swamped with hits, the irate -- and evidently partisan -- company redirected visitors to a site run by George
Soros, the billionaire Bush basher who is going to great (and expensive) lengths to kick Cheney and his boss to the political curb. Oops. Cheney, of course, meant FactCheck.org.
