Michael, I think that because the idea is that these meetings are impromptu, it probably matters who's going to show up for a given meeting, what they want to do, and what kind of problems we look at as to whether Scala is appropriate for the meeting.
I personally wouldn't mind learning some Scala, but I'm afraid the meetings would turn into large chunks of time with people learning Scala rather than solving problems of whatever variety they came to solve, be it whiteboard, implementing some small project, etc. We'd probably have to work this out on a case-by-case basis. I'm open to further thoughts on this, though. -- Nate On Tue, Sep 24, 2013 at 4:27 PM, Michael Frank <msfr...@syntaxjockey.com>wrote: > nate, do you envision this being python-specific, or more general? i > *love* the idea of meeting to discuss and work through concrete problems, > but i'm knee-deep in scala nowadays. that said, functional programming > concepts are useful for pythonistas as well... > > -Michael > > > On 9/24/13 2:47 PM, Adam Garcia wrote: > >> Great idea!
