Unfortunately, some of Dell's support staff don't know how to
effectively support Linux yet.  I recently called Dell to report a
problem with a failing hard disk drive on one of their machines that I
was using as a mail server, only to be told that "Linux isn't
supported", and that I should reinstall Windows.
