Title: FTP through ipchains

Good Morning:

Im using Red Hat 7.1 with all of the updates applied.  Ive set up my Linux box to masquerade, and from my internal machines I can use the web browser, get mail, play Diablo II, etc.  The only problem I seem to be running into is that I can not ftp files.  I can get to ftp sites from my Linux box, and can see directories, retrieve files, etc.  However, from my internal machines, although I can connect to the ftp sites, directory listings and retrieval of files does not work.  Im using ipchains on the Linux box.  Ive turned on logging of the rejected packets, and show no entries in my log file when I try to retrieve files.  Any clues or directions as to what Im doing wrong?

Also, as an aside, Id like to look at moving to iptables, as I hear it offers some additional flexibility over and above ipchains.  Any good links to where I could find a possible tutorial with step-by-step instructions on what I need to do to get it up and running?

Thanks

- Mike
