My suggestion, in this order.
a) install the software from HP.
b) install Windows, reserve space for linux.
c) install Linux
reason. HP wants to do something odd to your partitions, let it.
Windows will be able to deal, so it will install over the HP stuff.
Linux will be able to deal with whatever Windows does, but the reverse
is not true.
There is also a guru solution available.
a) find a guru.
b) offer the guru beer.
c) tell the guru the problem.
d) give the guru your computer.
