It's usually better to change /etc/mail/sendmail.mc and then to generate /etc/sendmail.cf from it than it is to change /etc/sendmail.cf directly. Comment out this line of /etc/mail/sendmail.mc: DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Port=smtp,Addr=127.0.0.1, Name=MTA') by adding a "dnl " at the beginning. Then follow the directions at the top of the file.
