A bit more information to assist in troubleshooting, this is a P6FX2-A
motherboard sporting the Intel 82440FX chipset built with PCIset 82441FX
(PMC) and 82442FX (DBX) specifications. I am using Genuine Intel Pentium
Pro 200 processors on the board, though not purchased at the same time.
I visited a number of websites in an effort to track down the issue,
namely:
http://www.intel.com/design/pcisets/specupdt/297654.htm (which doesnt
exist anymore)
http://nemo.physics.ncsu.edu/~briggs/vfix.html (which had some "patch"
or code which didnt really fix the issue)
http://www.europe.redhat.com/documentation/HOWTO/SMP-HOWTO-3.php3#ss3.2
(which had some tips)
but nothing really solved the problem. Has anyone got any additional
ideas? Here is a snippet of dmesg i was able to capture when i DID have
it up long enough to pipe dmesg to a file:
