There is a line in the /etc/sendmail.cf config that makes sendmail only
listen locally (i.e. 127.0.0.1) You will have to go up to the bat site
(i.e. http://www.sendmail.org) and read about regenerating your mc file
to create a new configuration and then follow the instructions there.
The easiest way is to simply put the local IP address into the
configuration and restart sendmail. Also it sounds like your smtp is
looking for a dns server that it tries a reverse dns lookup on, check
that as well.
