Hello,
I'm running 7.1 with a custom-built 2.4.9-ac10 kernel and various
pieces from Raw Hide. Kudzu used to be able to detect my scanner,
joysticks, and webcam before the kernel upgrade, now it can't. If I
un-plug these devices after the system has booted and them re-plug them,
the correct modules will load.
NOTE that /etc/hwinfo entries for these devices (below) shows "unknown"
in the 'driver' entry for these devices, where the correct driver would
be listed previously. I assume there is a database somewhere that
matches device ID's to drivers, but I can't find it. 'usb.ids' doesn't
seem to be the culprit:
WebCam: Creative WebCam III using the ov511 driver (from
alpha.dyndns.org/ov511), Vendor=05a9, ProdID=a511
Joysticks: MS SideWinder DualStrike, Vendor=045e ProdID=000e (NOTE: I
have to add this one manually to /etc/hotplug/usb.handmap because it's
not listed - maybe it should be?)
Scanner: HP ScanJet 6350, Vendor=03f0 ProdID=0601
Any hints?
