Well, if you set up the windows box as a unix printserver, then did you
configure printconf to print to a remote lpd printer?

Also, there is a bug in printconf's share box, if you configure for a
smb printer: 

fill in the form in the form '//server/queue' or '\\\\server\\queue'.
Note the 2 slashes for every one slash if you use the backslased
version.
