Hey all:

A quick question if you don't mind. I am about to wipe a hard drive
clean, after which I am going to restore a file system I have on tape.
I am puzzled by something, however, and want to be sure I have
everything before I do so.

When I try to read the tape to make sure I have everything, I can't see
the content of my /home or /usr directory. I figured when in the
interactive shell of restore, you could read it like a normal
filesystem. Here is my ouput. Any ideas as if this is corrrect or not?

[root@localhost /]# /sbin/restore -ivf /dev/nst0
Verify tape and initialize maps
Tape block size is 32
Dump date: Wed Oct 24 14:54:55 2001
Dumped from: the epoch
Level 0 dump of / on xxxx.xxxx.xxxx:/dev/sdb7
Label: /1
Extract directories from tape
Initialize symbol table.
/sbin/restore > ls
.:
     2 ./ 188929 dev/ 62989 misc/ 188931 sbin/
     2 ../ 204673 etc/ 31490 mnt/ 173185 tmp/
283393 bin/ 62977 home/ 125954 opt/ 94465 usr/
 31489 boot/ 346369 lib/ 157441 proc/ 125953 var/
 31774 dell/ 11 lost+found/ 157442 root/

/sbin/restore > cd home
/sbin/restore > ls
./home:
62977 ./ 2 ../

/sbin/restore > cd ../usr
/sbin/restore > ls
./usr:
94465 ./ 2 ../

/sbin/restore >

Thanks in advance,
