Oh, now I remember one time I changed something similar to your changing 
KDE icon. What I did was I changed the Preferences of the konsole icon 
and in the Execute part inside the Properties, I ticked on the box 
saying Run as a different user into 'root'. I guess this is my case 
which has some similarity to yours. Anyway, the problem is fixed now and 
I am a happy RH user again =) thanks a lot.
