Hello!

Did You tried from the same machine? If from the same machine runs well You need 
uncomment one line in sendmail.cf,I mean these line.

dnl DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Port=smtp,Addr=127.0.0.1, Name=MTA')

put "dnl" for comment the line and later type 

makemap hash /etc/mail/access </etc/mail/access

For compile the new config ,later restart sendmail with the command

/etc/init.d/sendmail restart
