I currently have 6.2,( apricot 550) decided time to upgrade to 7.1.
Created FD boot disk, to boot the image process. (PC to old to auto boot CD) RH
corrrectly probed all the H/W devices but as soon as it saw the (internal)
CD-drive it panic'd. The CD is a sony, and as it worked OK for 6.2 I could not
see the problem. I inserted another CD drive (LG) into the PC, again the same
problem, it panic'd as soon as it probed the CD.
I have also tried to specify the CD dev on the boot prompt.
linux cd=/hdc
But it still panic'd, I have even tried rescue. I have even downloaded the
current .img from RH in case I had a suspect image from my install CD's..
I have since disconnected the CD from the IDE, and the floppy boots OK. But
thats no good without a CD to install from.
Any idea's what is going on.
