Very large print jobs choke when sent from Win98 to a networked printer. I haven't narrowed down to too-large size, but a ~100MB file seems OK, while a ~160MB file will fail to print. The jobs are always in PostScript format, so I can't say if the problem occurres with non-PS files.
There are many steps in printing a file, so many potential culprits for this failure: 1. File is sent from Win98 to Samba 2. Samba spooler sends file to lpd spooler 3. File is run through RedHat printfilter/printconf scripts 4. File is sent to HP Color LaserJet 4500 printer (via Ethernet) 5. File is spooled within printer (192MB installed) for printing Notes: 1. All software noted above is Seawolf + RH-released updates. 2. There is more than enough disk space for holding 2 copies of the file (1 copy in Samba spool directory and another in lpd spool dir). 3. A failed print job appears as a zero-lenth file in the lpd spooler and the printer indicates (via LCD display) that it wants to be reset. Can anyone help me to determine where my problem is? Thanks. _______________________________________________ Seawolf-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/seawolf-list
