Usually it means you have exceeded the buffer size of the printer. In the
past this has been taken care of by the -s option of lpr. But looking at
the man page of lpr makes me unsure of this working any more. The point of
the -s option was create a sybolic link to the file to be printed and not
send it all at one time to the printer. Now I am not sure what to do.
You could try the -s and see if it helps.
