The Lilo displaying of LI means that lilo can't find the secondary loader. The proimary loader is in the MBR but the secondary loader should be in the /boot partition. Fot some reson lilo can't find the secondary loader. 1. Is your disk too large and you are not using lba32 option instead of the linear option in lilo.con?
2. Is the disk you are using correctly recognised in the BIOS?
