Hello seawolf-list,

I have a RH 7.1 system that has been working pretty well for me for
quite a while. I've been mostly keeping up with updates, using the
automated system Red Hat provides. A few weeks ago, I accepted a
number of updates that had "backed up" waiting for my attention. Most
everything is fine, with two odd exceptions that I've noticed.

1) After the updates, the X Window login screen no longer sported the
Ret Hat graphic. (I can live without this.)

2) After the updates, logging into the system from the X Window login
screen no longer causes the /etc/profile to be run. I can tell this by
looking at its last access date. This is really inconvenient. Help?

Thanks!

Ron.
