My mistake, I did not know that when
uninstalling/erasing an *.rpm you CANNOT use the
version number, only the package name (i.e. rpm -e
netscape.)  Thanks Mike (and others), I failed to
mention that I init'ed the database before installing
any addtional packages from base RH install, also
tried (on a hunch) to rebuild database but still the
same results.
