After you changede the sendmail.mc did you run m4 sendmail.mc >
sendmail.cf to create a new sendmail.cf which is the file you really
need.  sendmail by dewfault puts received mail in /var/spool/mail but
there are some mail clients that can change that. If tehy do not show
up in /var/spool/mail then I would say your machine is not receiving
mail.
