Jason, i have had this happen regularly with ipchains.
I believe it is just a delay when resolving the ip
address of foreign servers to hostnames. If i'm not
mistaken it happens most often when there's no
connection to the internet, but its possible it
happens regardless. There are ways to prevent it from
resolving i think but otherwise its not a defect, so
don't worry about it.
