After setting the tunnel up, you have to configure Outlook to use
localhost as your mailserver.

Subject: ssh tunneling problem

I can't get Outlook to access my remote POP3 server. The server won't
accept regular telnet/ftp, though I can log on via ssh just fine. But
then,
even after I set up a tunnel for SMTP (port 25) and POP3 (port 110),
Outlook
won't grab my mail. I've been through the support pages. Someone help
me
please!
