Thanks But even i do this.....how will the permissions of all the system files .and utilities change to ur new user toor. I had made a root equivalent user before doing this expt..but the pt is the sys is not able to do the basic boot up and rc* script execution because they have permissions for the older root account. I am not getting any prompt to choose my login...because even the filesys are not mounting. I can't do bootcdrom -s and edit back the /etc/passwd file because have a intel m/c.
