I'm using a local account to execute the scheduled task, and it is the same account I use to logon interactively and run the batch from a dos prompt. But I think that it if was a problem of permission it should not run from the interactive DOS, while in that way it works. Anyway, I've checked this solution; I gave only that user permissions to read the key, but nothing changes. Thanks anyway Bruno
