One way to stop people from plugging in hubs and or unauthorized work
stations (at least in Cisco land) is to enable port security. You can
be a real control freak and set static mac address in the cam (I think
it is the cam though I might mistaken) table. Point of the matter is if
you really are worried about people adding nodes to your net you might
want to consider that.
