To all High Speed Connection Users,

I need your help, I'm getting ready to step up from a PPP connection to ADSL
and with your assistance, I would like to know some of the security steps to
take when using ADSL. My gateway/firewall is a old Fujitsu FM-V Desk Power
SE using a pentium 120MHz chip and 48k Ram w/ a 2GB HD running Mandrake linux
8.0. Security level is set to high and I'm running Bastille firewall. I do
not know how to setup ipchains/iptables so these files have not been changed
since the fresh install. My goal is to have all my computers (4) talking to
each other securely, I have been advised not to use telnet so I'm trying to
learn how to connect to my other systems via SSH. If anyone has read the
books "Real World LInux Security" (Intrusion,Prevention,Detection and
Recovery) by BobToxen and Hacking Linux Exposed and has found some tips I
should look at please let me know, I live in Japan in a small town call
Fukushima and almost no one uses linux here so I depend on users groups like
this one for good secure information and HELP. I hope to hear you soon.

Sincerely,

Operator
