While certifications are helpful, the arguement of real experience will always hold true over any piece of paper. Unfortunately employers are relying more and more on certifications over experience. I am one of those poor souls who has a hard time getting work in my area because I don't have the papers saying I can do all the types of work I've done for past clients. So employers of this list please keep that in mind, people can brainbuzz their way through any exam, but they can't fake years of experience. As to this verification thread the issuing company of any legitimate certification will have a verification process available. Microsoft used to have an online option as well, but they have changed that in the last few years so I can't say what the process is now.
