Hi, I have also read this book. Its a great book, but I must clarify that it is a book on the history of cryptography and its evolution from ancient times to the current state. It is not a book on protocols and algorithms. It does do a great job of making the history interesting and you never really get bored. I had also better qualify my statement by saying that I havent read any other book on the history of cryptography, so I cant really compare with other similar books.
