I don't know of anyone making such kind of wires but a modified vampire 
tap might be what you are trying to create, depending on the kind of 
cable being used, of course. Why not just put 2 NIC's in your laptop 
(assuming you are going to use a laptop for this ...) and act as a 
bridge between the two hosts. You could easily then use tcpdump or 
another utility to keep an eye on the packets. Just an idea.
