I donot have much experience to answer the remaining questions. But the
last one, I think I can answer. Andrew, IMHO, telnet is not a secure way of
connecting to any server, as the data is sent in clear text. Even though
you are building a network at home, it is suggested that you use ssh for
connecting to the server. I hvnt used Exceed and so cannot comment on that.
