Sounds like a HIPPA issue, as Sean pointed out in an earlier reply.
However, since you are emailing from Australia, I doubt HIPPA applies to
you.  I would check with your government for specific rules (if any).


You could try overwritting the whole tape serveral times over.  Fill the
tape up with the same small file over and over again.  Then use a powerful
magnet.
