Precisely, it's
if (inboundServerLen == null || inboundServerLen < 0) {
maxInboundClientCertChainLen = globalPropSet ?
maxCertificateChainLength : 8;;
} else {
maxInboundClientCertChainLen = inboundServerLen;
}
and nothing else is needed.
