I may just be an old dog incapable of learning new tricks, but I've had
a hard time trying to figure out some things since Xerces moved to
Subversion. (I don't remember what specific problems I've had,
unfortunately, just that I had a hard time with something that would
have been trivial for me with CVS.)

On the other hand, there may be something to be gained by using the same
version control system as other Apache projects. This argument would be
more convincing to me if there was some official indication that ASF
prefers SVN to CVS, but I can't find any such on
http://www.apache.org/dev/version-control.html.

Is there a compelling reason to make the change? I know SVN is newer
and cooler and has some features that are very useful under some
circumstances (like member moves), but is there any evidence that this
is of value to xml-security?

I raise these issues just as food for thought. I don't have a vote or a
strong opinion.
