I have been using Xvnc in SNV 81 and TX since Glenn Faden mentioned it several
months ago in his blog. So when Solaris 10 update 5 was released I was excited
to implement XVnc in my new TX builds. However, I have been disappointed by
the fact the the update 5 implementation does not seem to be multi-level aware.
At the login screen I can select CDE or JDS but not the trusted versions.
Also, if I used a trusted desktop locally on the system running Xvnc and then
try to remote to the system using vncviewer I get the following message, "X
Server on your host does not support Trusted Solaris Extension." I have setup
the systems like my SNV 81 system but the results are different. Running
strings against the XVnc binaries I noticed the the SNV 81 binary references
the /usr/X11/lib/X11/xserver/TrustedExtensionsPolicy while the update 5 Xvnc
does not. Am I missing something? Will there be a multi-level Xvnc in a later
update of Solaris 10? Thank you for your time.
