market. They are a profitable, privately held venture 
backed company founded in April 1999 to provide its 
users with the most comprehensive shopping 
comparison information available on the web today.  
The company's web site is the starting point for savvy 
shoppers who value their time, money and privacy. 
Our Client's unique services include BottomLinePrice 
calculation, detailed product information, merchant 
ratings, email notification of the best prices on the 
Internet, side-by-side product comparisons, expert 
and consumer reviews, and wireless access from 
WAP-enabled phones and other devices, making our 
Client's site a valuable ally for any shopper.
 

They are a free shopping comparison engine, 
empowering its users with a wide range of 
information including pricing, product specifications, 
shipping and sales tax information through their 
BottomLinePrice feature, estimated inventory, 
product reviews and much more. Their goal is to 
provide users with all the relevant information so that 
they can make the best possible buying decision for 
their individual needs.

Summary
The Director – Security and Transaction Architecture 
(Director) will be the primary owner of the company-
wide program developing and implementing fraud 
detection and prevention policies, procedures, best 
practices, controls and measurements. The chosen 
executive will evaluate, propose and guide the 
implementation of strategic and tactical security 
policies, technical solutions and operations systems 
that will launch a comprehensive and robust 
company security strategy to minimize financial risk 
to PriceGrabber.com. 

The Director will lead the design and implementation 
of appropriate security monitoring solutions, controls 
and mitigating measures. Furthermore, the Director 
will lead security consulting to internal development 
and/or business units and serve as an advocate for 
data security throughout the organization.  
Additionally, he/she will also lead and execute the 
performance of security vulnerability assessments, 
and facilitate the development of  documentation and 
maintenance of security policies and procedures. In 
addition, the Director will manage the development 
and implementation of security procedures and 
methods to insure compliance with established 
information security policies in a thorough, accurate, 
and timely manner. 

Key Position Accountabilities
�       Review and investigate 
accounts/transaction for fraudulent activity
�       Interact closely with Customer Support, 
Marketing, Finance, and Program Management to 
oversee site risk issues and fraud-control procedures
�       Establish fraud detection procedures and 
communicate them through the organization
�       Execute or oversee credit card charge 
back resolution and follow up
�       Manage relationship with Insurers and other 
loss-prevention partners
�       Work within a team-oriented environment
�       Duties are performed with minimal 
supervision. Prioritization, time management and 
commitment to quality solutions are essential
�       Source, review and select fraud prevention 
and detection technology partners
�       Review and analyze transaction process 
and technology systems
�       Architect security systems and processes 
with alignment of the company’s growth objectives

Ideal Background
The ideal candidate will have:
�       Expert knowledge of on-line transactional 
payment systems
�       Knowledge of fraud detection techniques 
and strategies in the credit card, deposit, and Internet 
payment industries
�       Strong Internet experience

Requirements
�       3+ years of Fraud detection experience or 
equivalent fraud investigation experiencing using data 
investigative sources in an on-line retailing 
environment
�       Mastery of online security concepts and 
methodologies, as well an advanced understanding 
of industry best practices for online retailers
�       Ability to work with a variety of individuals at 
all levels within and outside of the organization
�       Must possess excellent communication 
skills including strong analytical and project 
management skills, expert working knowledge of 
industry security standards, legal requirements, 
technology advances and security trends are required
�       Bachelors degree or the equivalent 
combination of formal education, training and 
experience
