Security Startup in Bay Area looking for Chief Technology Officer / VP Engineering
a.. Duties: You will be the 'technology visionary' and establish technical direction for this private startup company's network security line of products. You will participate with senior management in planning the short and long-range technology strategies. You will have full leadership responsibility to guide the engineering teams to successful production and release of new products. You will act as our liaison to the Standards community and bring insight and wisdom from these committees to the 'drawing board' for our new products. Your expertise and understanding of the internet security industry will help to align our next generation of products with the future needs of the marketplace. This position reports directly to the CEO. a.. Requirements: Proven track record of successful engineering management of systems development in the networking industry. Strong understanding of network security technologies, issues and players. Past experience as a CTO or VP of Engineering along with at least 15 years of experience in the internet security or related industries. MSEE or CS preferred, but will consider BSEE or CS and valid industry experience. Previous executive team experience is a must. You must be an excellent communicator, acting as an evangelist for these technologies. You must have the ability to convey a message across multiple channels throughout the company, working hand-in-hand with engineering, sales and marketing to create a technological story and product line that will move our company into the next phase of development.
