First, I'd like to thank those of you who responded to my initial
posting. This list is a great resource, evidenced by the quality of the
people who responded. I am making an effort to contact each of you
individually but if I can't, I apologize.
There is one adjustment that I need to make regarding the location of
this position. The company is located in Cincinatti, OH and for the
time being, they are only interested in local candidates or those that
can self-relocate. I am sure there are some qualified people that meet
this requirement but based on my experience, I'm pretty sure we'll need
to broaden the scope of the search. The client and I agreed to work
within these parameters for the next two weeks before re-evaluating the
strategy and looking at relocation candidates.
Again, thanks for the great responses and your understanding. I hope to
work with all of you in the future.

Sincerely,

Jeff Combs

The inside scoop:

This is a great job for those of you who have come up through the ranks
of enterprise security engineering and have experience managing a
mission-critical security infrastructure team. In its current state,
the team is somewhat undisciplined and lacking a unified focus. The
manager will need to constructively infuse the team with structure,
unity and vision. The people are good, they just need someone to
provide support and strategic direction. Its not a cake walk by any
means but the role is highly visible and extremely important within the
organization. The person that will successfully fill this role must have
ability, confidence, credibility and guts. The job reports to the
Director of Security and will interface heavily with the Enterprise
Policy and Architecture group.

If you are qualified and interested, drop a line to discuss. I also
have similar jobs with other clients in Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio.
Ohio seems to be the hot place for corporate security jobs. Go figure.

Best to all,
Jeff
