Hi Dan, Having just left a six-figure position in Product Marketing in a very non-IT Security company, I can tell you that, like you, I'm feeding many mouths (in my case, 10 of them). But I have to confess, leaving that rat race and now making only about 20% of what I was earning in the big leagues--my family is happier for it and I am a much nicer guy to live with. We might be somewhat cash-poor right now, but we're happier than we have ever been--the mortgage and Porsche payments be damned!
Don't worry, if you follow your heart, take care of your family's needs, and keep your eyes open, the right opportunities will come your way. Just remember, it's not always about the big bucks, but it IS about how you deal with silly little challenges like "work." Good luck. > > On Thu, 6 Feb 2003, Dan Carlucci wrote: > > > Hello, > > > > I have been out of work for about a month now.
