Location Reading, Berkshire, UK Salary �30,000 - �35,000 Start Date ASAP Reports to Technical Operations Manager Responsibilities Installation of software and hardware products at both partner and client premises. Training of clients and partners as to the complete functionality of the hardware and software.Troubleshooting problems and potential problems at client and partner premises. Support of all the software and hardware installations. Maintenance of all software and hardware installations. Administration of products installed at partner premises. Feedback in the form of electronic reports as to the success or failure of any work taken on. This needs to include feedback on customer comments or requests as to the functionality of products installed.Reporting on number of products installed and the usage of products by clients on a monthly basis. Skills Strong technical skills including TCP/IP networks, routers, firewalls, MS Windows OS's. Unix / Novell experience a bonus. Fault finding skills to troubleshoot installations and user issues. Fast learner able to grasp technical concepts. Must be able to manage his/her own time and keep track of several projects running concurrently. Since the role will be client-facing he/she should be comfortable talking to people and gathering information to assist in solving a problem. Must be able to understand the company's software well enough to provide telephonic support with sometimes very limited information being provided. The technician will often install software on large production SQL, Exchange, Oracle, Lotus Domino etc servers and any knowledge regarding these databases will be beneficial.
