Hello, my name is John van Meter and I'm looking for an Information Technology position with in a dynamic organization that will enable me to utilize and expand my security and technical expertise. I'm looking for a position in the Washington, DC Metro area.
I'm looking for a position were I could identifying, assessing and responding to client's security related issues, then developing a plan of action to responded to the security problem and finally implementing steps to mitigate or resolve the security risk. I have 12 years technical experience applying advanced network and office automation solutions to meet customer requirements. My duties included Helpdesk management, network design, implementation, LAN/WAN connectivity, Internet connectivity, mainframe connectivity, remote access, security and system performance. Recent security projects have included, installation, configuration and monitoring of host based and network based IDS, vulnerability and patch level assessments for Windows 2000 Server and Professional, independently identifying, assessing and responding to client's security related issues, certification and accreditation of systems, enterprise anti-virus solution and automating the collection and presentation of real time security events to management via a web portal.
