I was recently listening to the audio book "The Code Of Four" by Sir
Arthur Conan Doyle, when I heard the term Ferengi used to describe something
to do with India. Now I love to find the etymology of words and since the
Star Trek The Next Generation used that term for a race of people, it peaked
my interest. Who were the "Ferengi" of the Indian continent. I would like to
know why the Star Trek people used that particular phrase and what
significance it stands for. No I am not a Trekkie nor a Trekker, just
enjoyed the show very much.
