Yes, I have W98; no, I don't have a home network, only one machine,
and a father who sits at a desk in the same room, to whom if
necessary I want to occasionally direct a short text message in a
rather-large font, e.g. "MORE PHONE CALLS?", because we have only
the one phone line, and he (and other family members on occasion)
sometimes just picks up the phone without checking whether I am
still online [I am rather quiet while I am doing so, which I
inherited from him apparently :-)] (something he can do even given
his likewise-less-than-great vision) by looking at the screen from
where he is sitting, and seeing the banner of whichever ISP I happen
to be using on it (they know who they are...).
