Hiya Shirley...Before Napster and other music file sharing programs came
along, I bought a male to male plug and I inserted one end into the MIC IN
plug on my sound card, and then I plugged the other side into the HEADPHONE
plug of my Home stereo. I then opened Window's Sound Recorder and recorded
the sound as a wav file. I saved the file, and then converted it to an MPEG 2
or 3 layer, or then continued on to a conversion into an MP3 format. After I
converted to the later 2 formats, I burned them to a CD for permanent storage.

I had to dabble a bit with the volumes but I was able to transfer a lot of
older music from LPs or Cassettes to my computer that way.

Hope that helps!

Peace
