I'm no expert on affiliate programs, but most of the ones I know of take
care of accepting payments and fulfilling orders. The affiliate is used to
pre-sell the product or service and let the owner of the affiliate program
close the sale. I'm not sure what the product you would be selling is, but
if it is an automobile, it is doubtful that most potential customers would
have a large enough credit line on a credit card to purchase that way. If
you are selling automotive related products and services in the 50 to 1000
dollar range, then credit card payments may make more sense. Also, as Alan
has indicated, back end sales are the key to income. The cost of acquiring
the customer in the first place is where you will spend the most money and
you must measure this cost in terms of your unit cost per customer. How much
money did you spend on an advertising campaign and how many sales did
resulted will give you an indication of which advertising method is the most
effective for you. If you are actually selling cars, it is doubtful that you
will will sell another vehicle to the same customer unless they are
purchasing for a fleet. So, if you want to make money from your customer on
subsequent sales, you will more than likely need products and/or services
from other affiliate programs as well. I am familiar with several that have
much to offer to their members. E-mail me if you are interested.
