Sometimes, but not always. The Win32s can run many simple WIn9x
utilities, if they don't need a Win9x-specific API call, or registry
access.
Here are a few Win9x things known to run under Win32s:
winhlp32.exe - The Win9x help system
Solitaire
Notepad (the 32-bit version)
Wordpad (tricky to get running but works)
The Win9x paint program
Hyperterminal
Most of the stuff under the Start > accessories menu, with a few
exceptions.
Generally, the simpler the program is, the more likely it is to run
under Win32s. One thing of note is that it was really designed to run
stuff for NT 3.51, so if you have NT3 stuff, it just might run.
The most notable thing that runs under Win32s is ICQ. ICQ requires
Win32s, in fact. ICQ alone (IMO) is worth installing the Win32s...
WHat's interesting about the 32-bit ICQ is that it is specially
engineered to work with a 16-bit winsock (except the M$/Shiva dialer)
