Let's try this.  Find your folders.dbx file in your hard drive.  Use 
your Start | Find function to locate this folders.dbx file.  Actually, 
I find several on my drive, but the one I would be interested is 
located on my system:

c:\windows\application data\microsoft\outlook express

That folders.dbx ...

Disregard the folders.dbx in the Identities directory, for now.

First make sure Outlook Express is closed, then use Exploring to rename 
your folders.dbx file to:

folders.old

Now run Outlook Express.  Outlook Express should recreate a new 
folders.dbx file for you and hopefully that will fix you problem.

If not, then delete your new folders.dbx and rename the folders.old to 
folders.dbx and we'll go back to the drawing board. :-)
