If I get my windows partition in working order, then I can zip and offer a
download that is better than the netlingo offerings.

I had a power loss this afternoon while in windows, due to a blown
transformer, then the power came back briefly, but at half of what was
expected. This totally screwed my windows partition that was the first
option that the comp booted into. I ignored that fact that my comp was
rebooting into windows at the time, and now I suffer the fact that I did
this, or even allowed windows to be the primary boot OS on my machine.

I run Win98, NT, Linux; slackware (my preferance), red hat, mandrake,
Winlinux2000 (something I'm personally involved in, and the best linux OS
for newbies - contact me for more info), and FreeBSD, OpenBDS, etc...
Mulitple OS's, is what I'm getting at. But only the crappy windows
screwed up because I allowed it to be my first boot OS.

If there is a windows error message expert on this list, which I would
imagine there is, then please contact me. I can boot into windows in Safe
Mode, but not regular mode. I've tried everything, from re-installing
windows - without formatting the partition because there is data there I
still want, to un-installing drivers that I think might be causing the
errror.

I can copy what I want to backup to my current Linux partition that I'm on
now, then format the windows partition, re-install everything, restore the
data, but if there is a way around this, then that is what I prefer.

I know this is a search list, but, as I stated, I'm guessing that there is
at least one person who is literate enough in windows that is willing to
help me. I don't want to format, I want to bypass the error. If this
list is willing to offer up suggestions, then i'll post the error message
and hope that someone can help.

Excuse me if my grammar and spelling is off, but i've spent the last 8
hours trying to recover 2 years worth of data. And this had forced me to
consume a bottle of rum, while jamming to some Jimmy Buffett, in an
attempt to keep my cussing to a minimum, and the dog and wife from hiding
in the corners for fear of me throwing computer parts around the room. ;-)

Thank god for rum and jimmuy buffet. And thank god for linux.
