Under a meg. I'll give you the url after I jump back into win98.

Nothing that had to do with the BIOS. It was driver related. A VxD
error. For some reason, a driver got fscked-up during the power loss
and win98 could not recover. I spent many hours tweaking with the
drivers, the registry, every .ini file, etc... but win98 refused to
respond in kindness.

After waking up, eating 2 aspirin, 1/2 a Xanax tab, and 3 cups of
coffee to kill my rum hangover, I then formatted the win98 partition
and re-installed it.

I backed up what I could to my Linux partition, then burned it to
cd-rom, then restored it to my new win98 partition. Two years of data
was saved this way, thank god.

My most important tool that I have and cherish is Partition Magic. I
highly suggest this tool to anyone that wants to run multiple OS's.
It's a life saver. It comes with Boot Magic and an app mover that is
essential in organizing multiple partitions.

I know have my win98 system files on their own partition, and every app
on another. This helps me if win98 crashes again. A simple format,
and I'm in business real quick. I'm also using Seagate Backup to burn
my partitions to cd-rom in case such a thing ever happens again.

Yup. My preferred flavor of linux.

If you are a linux newbie, then I suggest going to www.winlinux2000.com
and downloading the distro there. Simple to install, no repartitioning
needed, a tool that configures your hardware settings, and more. It
just does not get any easier.

If you need more help, or if anyone on the list needs assistance in
linux, then I'm more than willing to offer up what knowledge I do have.

I'm not sure it general discussions are allowed on this list. I don't
know exactly who the list owner is, but if general discussions are
allowed, and not just seek&find q&a's, then I think it would be a more
popular list.

I'm guessing that the computer literacy on this list is above average,
from what I've seen so far. I'd like to see some actual discussions if
it's allowed. I know that most people subscribe to have some sort of
question answered, but meanwhile, if discussions are allowed, I think
it would generate a larger, more dedicated subscribership. More of a
community, than just a q&a list.
