I agree with Bill Morris, It depends on what you want to do.
I have an old GeoInstruments, JH-8, that I have used many times to run
through boxes of core at a time to find contacts and relative magnetic
susceptibilities. Agreed not calibrated but good enough for modeling as it is
relative. With help moving boxes of core one can run a box in a couple of
minutes.
It is available if you need one.
