John:

I do not have detailed answers to your questions but several several years
ago we installed a casing that was simple bored randomly with a 0.5 inch
drill, used to demonstrate resistivity (normal) logging in glacial
overburden at the University of Waterloo. All I can remember of the
results was that I was surprised how well it worked. Even a very nominal
perforation appeared to have a fairly low "contact" resistivity.
